Better safe than sorry, right? At least I’ve always found that to be a particularly useful line to live by. If you work with other people, have children or spend time participating in sports or other hobbies that could result in injuries, you should know first aid. You never know when someone might get injured and knowing what to do to at least help them feel comfortable until professional help arrives will be so beneficial to the patient. Of course, you often cannot do it alone. It’s important to have supplies on hand just in case of an emergency and a box of adhesive bandages doesn’t count as a first aid kit.
Aid kit for treating burns
Once in our life we have witnessed a fire. We may have seen it on television or heard in on the radio, or worse, you or a loved one may have experienced it. Being a victim of burn accidents is very terrible. Burns are classified in order of their severity and involvement in the tissues of the body; the classifications are: first, second and third degree burns. First aid for burns is specific to the burn injury. First aid for burns varies slightly from the less serious burns to the severe. Second degree burns can be as severe as some third degree burns if they cover a major portion of the body, or on tender areas of the arms, hands and feet.
Remember that the priority when giving burn care for burnt victims is to prevent infection. They are very susceptible to infection so always use clean cloth when attending to them.
Aid kit for disaster preparedness
One of the basic preparations that the government recently announced to the world is to have survival or disaster kit in your home. These kits are commonly taken for granted by most people but what they don’t realize about these kits is they will be the tool that will help them live and survive in case of emergency or when calamity strikes. Don’t wait for calamity to strike your place before you realize its significance.
Don’t take disaster kits for granted for they are very important for survival sake. It could help you and also the people you’re with. Don’t be too confident with yourself and what you have right now since no one knows when a calamity will strike.
